diamA Property Seminar was held on October 22, 2010 at Shiang Seafood Restaurant by TCCBC. Six guest speaks from different areas of home building gave a presentation of their expertise, from single houses and complexes developing to flooring, stone fabrication to kitchen cabinet choosing. More than 150 people attending the semniar. The speakers were eager to share their knowledegs to everyone and the audience also have many questions to discuss, so that it lasted 3 hours long and it was a great evening.

It was our pleasure to have Eric Yu (Alpha Stone), Yimi (Italpro Multi-Well Enterprises), Johnny Chen (Wellmax Hardwood Flooring), Tai Cheng (Entice Building Materials Ltd.), William Wu (Sungrowth Development Ltd), and Jim Hsu (Lin Won Project Management) as the speaker of the seminar.

The whole seminar was filmed and made into DVD along with all the powerpoint files from six speakers.

diamTaiwanese Chambers of Commerce of North America (TCCNA) had the second board meeting of the 23rd year held at the Fairmont Vancouver Hotel in Vancouver, BC. TCCBC hosted a three-day event for our guests from all over the States.

For them to know and enjoy Vancouver more, a one-day city tour was arranged for site seeing at Stanley Park and winery visit at Lulu Island. They had a very great time and found Vancouver is a such beautiful city.

Combined after the meeting there was a seminar panel on the topics of application of energy saving for business, medical examination services (presented by several hospital units from Taiwan), and introduction to Shi-Tai United Fund.

diamEconomics and Trading Seminar: Marketing and Business Management

In order to enhance economic and trade services provided to overseas Compatriot businesses, Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission (OCAC) has arranged a series of seminars in Canada. The speaker, Mr. Kuei Shihping, is a professional business and marketing consultant from Taiwan. TCCBC organized the seminar in Vancouver on August 11, 2010. There were more than 120 people joining the seminar. Mr. Kuei also visited our members Viva Pharmaceutical Inc. and Kuo Hua Trading Company Ltd. for business consulting.

diamNew Board of Directors of TCCBC's 19th year was elected on the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 25, 2010.

Albert Tseng was elected to be the new president for July 2010 to June 2011. The executive commitee is comprised of Albert Tseng (President), Jeff Lin (First Vice-President), Tai Yang (Second Vice-President), Richard Su (Secretary-General), and Frank Tseng (Chief Treasurer).

diamRob Howard MLA for Richmond Centre, introduced the concept of Open Skies to our VIP guests and members on the AGM. The presentation briefly covered the history and the benefits of Open Skies. The objectives are to create direct, unfettered transportation between British Columbia and the world, to grow and diversify the economy as access allows BC communities to attract visitors, students, investors, and commerce, to allow BC's airports to achieve maximum benefits, and to maximise our Pacific Gateway investments.
